Well, after no one finding anything wrong with me and feeling a bit better I decided to go for a ride at lunch today. I’m still not feeling 100%. Still have breathing issues and chest pressure. Mind you, none of this is debilitating, but it is annoying and I’m sure has a negative effect on hard efforts. So, since I was itching to get on the bike and at least do something I thought an easy something would be the smartest idea. So today I set my computer chirp at me if my heart rate got above 153 bpm. It did a few times for short periods, but for the most part I rode easy enough to keep it in the high end of my endurance into my tempo zone. I have to say my legs feel really fresh. My back seems to have loosened up a great deal and I feel good, over all, on the bike. I just need to get this breathing/chest thing cleared up.
So, today’s ride:
20.08 miles, 1:07:39, 740 ft ascent, 195 watts avg power, 151 bpm avg hr, 851 calories. CTL is down to 58 (oh boy
) and TSB is 12 (well at least I’m fresh).
I have a doctor appointment set up for 6/4/2010 to get a complete physical and hopefully begin a relationship with a new primary care physician. Oh, and he’s also an endurance athlete and a D.O. so I feel pretty good about the choice for me. I wish it was next week though as there are 2 or 3 races I would like to do before the appointment. I’ll really have to watch how I’m feeling and make game day decisions on these races.
